Privacy and cookies policy
Last updated 1 June 2026. This policy explains how We Are Tai Chi ("We Are Tai Chi", “we”, “us”) handles your personal data when you enquire about our Tai Chi class or use this website.
Who we are
We Are Tai Chi, trading as Kuaile De Rizi School of Tai Chi, runs a weekly Tai Chi class led by Martin Day in Leeds. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. The class is held at the Barnbow Social Club, Manston Lane, Leeds LS15 8ST. The best way to reach us about your data, or anything else, is by email at kuailederiza@proton.me.
What data we collect
We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry and run the class. Depending on how you get in touch this may include:
- Your name and the contact details you give us, such as your email address or phone number.
- Anything you choose to tell us in an enquiry, for example a question about the class or a health note you want Martin to be aware of.
- Limited technical data when you use this website, such as your device and browser type and the pages you visit, collected through cookies and analytics only if you consent.
We do not ask for or hold payment card details. The class is paid as you go, in person.
How we use your data and our lawful basis
We use your data to reply to your enquiry, to welcome you to the class and answer your questions, and to let you know if a session is cancelled or rescheduled. We also use limited website data, with your consent, to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us and running the class well, and your consent where it is required, for example for non-essential cookies.
Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising. We share it only where it is necessary to run the class and this website:
- Results You Can Measure, our web agency, who operate the shared form-handling service that receives enquiries from this website and forwards them to us by email.
- Cloudflare, who host this website and process limited technical traffic data on our behalf under their privacy policy.
A copy of website enquiries is held briefly in the form-handling service at forms.resultsyoucanmeasure.com while it is routed to us, under the same retention and access controls described below. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry messages and contact details only for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and, if you join, to stay in touch about the class. If your enquiry does not lead to you attending, we delete it within 12 months. You can ask us to delete your details sooner at any time.
Cookies
This website uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work, including remembering your cookie choice. With your consent it may also use analytics cookies that help us see how the site is used so we can improve it. You can accept or refuse non-essential cookies through the cookie banner, and change your mind at any time using “Manage cookies” in the footer, without losing access to the content. We do not use advertising trackers. Full detail is in our cookie policy.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on it. To exercise any of these, email us at kuailederiza@proton.me and we will respond within the statutory time limit.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we would ask you to raise it with us first so we can put it right.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version published here, with the date shown above, is the current one. Material changes will trigger a fresh cookie banner request so you can review your choices.
